Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt (機動戦士ガンダム サンダーボルト Kidō Senshi Gandamu Sandāboruto?) is a manga written by Yasuo Ohtagaki, published by Shōgakukan and serialized in Big Comic Superior since March 23 2012. An anime adaptation was announced in November, 2015 and aired in December, 2015.

The series takes place concurrently with Mobile Suit Gundam, during the One Year War. In UC 0079, the Federation and Zeon troops engage in a fierce battle in the "Thunderbolt Sector", a shoal zone littered with debris from destroyed space colonies, named for the frequent electrical discharges. The story focuses on Federation soldier Io Flemming as he battles Zeon's best sniper, Daryl Lorenz. Media

A 4-episode Original net animation adaptation, produced by Sunrise, was confirmed on 28 October 2015. It is directed and written by Kō Matsuo, with character designs from Hirotoshi Takaya and mechanical designs from Morifumi Naka, Seiichi Nakatani and Hajime Katoki. It premiered on December 25, 2015 via pay to watch service in Japan, with early access from the Gundam Fan Club app service on December 11, 2015.
